THE SOUND: Crystal clear and georgeous!
The band uses high quality equipment for sound reinforcement. For indoor or smaller outdoor shows, they have minature line array speakers that are so well designed, most of the audience won't even notice (visually) that the speakers are there. But they will notice the pure, clear, sound that fills the room unlike anything they've heard before.
For bigger indoor crowds (over 200 people) or large outdoor venues, their system can be expanded to provide crystal clear coverage on a grander scale. On these occasions, their sound engineer comes along to make sure that the sound is "just right" - not too loud, but sufficient for the size of the show.

THE VOICES: Diverse yet harmonious!
The band features three lead singers, each with their own unique tone and style - so there's plenty of variety all night long!   But these diverse ingrediants blend exceptionally well together. The band prides themselves on their vocals, and they work extra hard on their harmony arrangements. At just about every show, people will come up rave about their vocal harmonies. Give them a listen, and we bet you'll agree that they can harmonize as well as any group out there.

Dance the night away!

DRUMS available upon request!
Pearlz typically performs as a trio - and often you'll see dancers at their shows!  But they can bring in a drummer for any occasions where you want to hear great acoustic arrangements with a "back beat"!
Pearlz can add a percussionist on Cajone (an acoustic box drum), or a drummer on a full drum set!
If you'd like to have drums added for your event - just let us know.

Meet the band!

Dave Santa Maria: Dave is a seasoned guitarist and bassist (both acoustic and electric). As a lead vocalist Dave has a vast repertoire of tunes from different genres - rock, pop, country, folk, swing and blues. Dave has been performing for years and his band bio list includes Kit-n-Kaboodle, the Park Avenue Playboys, and he was a founding member of Pay Dirt . From 1990 - 2000, Pay Dirt was one of Rochester's best Top 40 contemporary country bands playing large scale venues, festivals, concerts, radio events, and was one of the "house band's" at The Roost - one of Rochester's most popular nightspots. Dave has also been a solo performer at many venues around town. Dave's friendly, enthusiastic and humorous personality has attracted audiences of all ages.

Jerry Curry:  Jerry started playing acoustic guitar in the fifth grade, learning old time standards and Irish folk music from the old masters in Livingston county.   One year later, he traded his bicycle to a kid down the street for an electric guitar and started playing rock and roll.   In addition to his vocals and lead guitar work, Jerry adds Dobro, ukulele and harmonica to enhance the band's unique sound.  He has performed with numerous bands in the past including the beloved folk rock band Quarter Moon , the country group Pay Dirt and the 1970's tribute showband Joey T and The Formula . And occasionally, he'll still play electric guitar with the popular classic pop/rock band 'Old Hat' . Jerry's versatile abilities help the group to showcase a huge collection of rock, pop, country, blues, and more traditional tunes loved by all.

Nancy Drum: Nancy (Park) Drum began playing the Rochester club scene and events at the age of 14. She is versatile on the delta blues bottleneck slide guitar, 5-string banjo, guitar and mandolin. Her vocal style has been called a cross between Bonnie Raitt and Patsy Cline. Nancy has done warm-up acts for such blues legends as John Hammond, Jr., Paul Butterfield and was mentored by, and performed with, the late legendary gospel blues recording artist - Lesley Riddle. Her band resume includes the Beale Street Blues Band , Blues-Grass , the St. James Band and Pay Dirt . In Pay Dirt, she played with her husband Bill Drum (on drums) and her future Pearlz band mates - Dave and Jerry. (During that time span, Nancy was offered a master recording session with Castle Records/Castle Music Group out of Nashville).
